FRENCH CHEESE Restaurant

The French cheese restaurant on Bolshaya Dmitrovka was opened in 2004. The restaurant is located in the basement of a historic 17th-century building - it had to be thoroughly cleaned and restored, with the floors being deepened. In large recesses, we created separate chambers with live flowers, paintings, and natural light. Images of violets are repeated everywhere - on stained glass, tablecloths, and furniture decor. The colors of violets are present in the color scheme - lilac floors, light yellow walls. The electrical wiring is hidden in pale green "stems" of handcrafted light fixtures. The result is an exquisite restaurant in a French style.

Area: 345 sq.m.

A glass dome grew in a quiet courtyard on Bolshaya Dmitrovka. Inside the dome, there is a staircase leading downwards. This is the entrance to the "French Cheese Hole," the residence of gourmet mice, whose portraits are hanging on the walls. The owner of the restaurant developed a slight obsession with mice and their favorite product a couple of years ago: after opening a small Swiss restaurant called "Cheese Hole" on Pokrovka, she embarked on culinary journeys to France and Switzerland in search of rare cheeses and wines.

The "French Hole" is larger and more elegant but still adheres to the principles of cheese farming: to feed people with proper European food in a cozy setting. The decor of the new restaurant is done in soft tones - pastel lemon walls, a purple floor, and light green "antique" furniture, adorned with hand-painted eyes. The cuisine focuses on French dishes. Of course, there is plenty of cheese. There is no need to worry about its quality - it is directly imported from France. "Shavru" cheese accompanies lightly salted salmon, sea scallops are baked with "brie de meaux" on a bed of spinach, and beef medallions are served with "roquefort" cheese. Of course, there is also a juicy quiche Lorraine - a traditional cheese pie with bacon - and cheese soup. Don't be alarmed: if you're not fond of excessive devotion to various dairy products, you can order halibut fillet with mashed potatoes and sage sauce, a bottle of white wine recommended by the sommelier, and feel like a restrained and moderate mouse.
