ARTLAVER Apartment

Prokhor Mashukov and Olga Sedova designed an apartment for a student in the Mosfilm area. The interior serves as a backdrop for contemporary art.

Through communication with the client, it was discovered that she is interested in contemporary art and Greek philosophy, enjoys visiting museums and traveling to see landmarks. She wanted to create an open and clean living space with "aesthetic accents".

Style

The client's desire for a maximally open and unified space, where large groups of friends can gather, served as the basis for the layout solution. The kitchen island divided the room into a dining area and a living area while maintaining the integrity of the interior. In the 80 sq.m. apartment, three windows are located on one side, which influenced the layout: all secondary rooms (wardrobe, bathroom, built-in closets) were moved deeper into the apartment, while the living rooms were positioned closer to the light.

In the project, we added a table with a base in the form of a Corinthian capital, plaster heads and busts made by our workshop. And a significant element became contemporary art. The apartment owner appreciates the provocative works of contemporary artists. One of the artworks that we selected and she really liked is a large painting from the "Europe" series by Tatiana Antoshina. The artwork occupies a central place in the living room above an antique chest of drawers. The model and actress Pani Bronya, known as the "Alternative Miss World 2000", posed as Europe in the painting.
